VOCABULARY: click links for detailed glossary page:- ADVERTISEMENT (ad): a specific message to inform, persuade, promote, provoke, or motivate people on behalf of a brand or group.
- AUDIENCE: any targeted individual or group on the receiving end of graphic design or advertisement.
- DEMOGRAPHICS: selected characteristics or attributes of a certain audience or population such as age, income, race, gender, etc.
- BRAND: the perceived personality or image of a product, company, or organization, that distinguishes it from its rivals.
- VISUAL IDENTITY: visible elements of a brand, such as a logo, color, style, which convey symbolic meanings that are not expressed through words alone.
- ICON: a simplified visual image or pictogram meant to resemble an object or action to be taken.
- SYMBOL: something that represents something else (i.e. a red octagon is a symbol to stop)
- LOGO: a unique symbol that represents a brand or company, providing immediate brand recognition. . (Also called logotype)
- LOGOTYPE: a logo that consists of the name spelled out in unique typography. (Also called wordmark)
